Originally a journalist for City TV, Patricia Sims then moved into a documentary film career. She worked with Robert (Bob) Hunter, a co-founded of Greenpeace, on a documentary called For the Love of Dolphins and later specialized in films about large-brained mammals, including two films about elephants. During the production of the elephant films, she realized that efforts to protect elephants were fragmented and decided to streamline them for a stronger impact. World Elephant Day was born in 2012 and is now a major event in the world's environmental calendar. This is her story.
