After nearly a year of living together, a young couple is separated when one partner is refused entry to Canada at the border. The encounter forces their relationship into an uncertain new reality, as they face the possibility of an indefinite period apart.

Inspired by director Clément Bompart’s own experience, "Lucía" explores love, migration and the complicated realities of being recognized as a couple in the eyes of the law. The film examines how an immigration decision based on rules and documentation can have deeply personal consequences, and how a single encounter with border security can change the course of a couple’s life.
