Set against the backdrop of the socially rebellious 1970s, Lucille’s Ball follows Lucille, a young woman determined to forge her own path in music, love and family. Coming of age at a time when changing attitudes toward sexuality and the introduction of the Pill were reshaping women’s lives, Lucille embraces the freedom to explore relationships on her own terms.

Her passion for music is central to her identity, but a turbulent personal life and unresolved experiences from her childhood threaten to derail her ambitions. With the support of friends and an older music producer, Lucille begins to rebuild her career and confront the past that has shaped her choices.

As Lucille’s priorities change, she discovers an unexpected desire to become a mother. When conventional paths to parenthood prove complicated, she creates an unconventional family of her own, challenging traditional ideas about relationships, parenthood and what makes a family.

Blending live action with stop-motion animation and creative rear-projection techniques, Lucille’s Ball uses inventive visual storytelling to reflect Lucille’s memories, imagination and unconventional journey. The result is a distinctive comedy-drama about independence, resilience and finding your own way.
